Our ever increasing ability to instantly capture and disseminate images might be seen to have heightened our sense of self-consciousness. The presence of a camera temporarily creates an invisible threshold between the viewer and the viewed.

Approached with the misleading proposition of reading a quote aloud, people agreed to be filmed and the above premise was tested. In order to obtain the desired footage, subjects were instructed to wait in frame five seconds before and after they had read the text. This results of this project were documented through A book and DVD.

The final edit of the film aims to gradually facilitate the realisation that each micro-movement reflects the universality of human nature.
